The Gender Spectrum

Gender is fluid, and most people are happy to be asked questions regarding their gender, like what pronouns they prefer, as long as it’s not asked in a patronising or sarcastic way. It baffles me that some people can get so up tight and offensive about a situation that barely involves them. If you don’t like it, then move on.

Gender is a state of mind, as is any non-physical part of you. You’re not told you can’t be determined because you have elbows. So why can’t you feel like a female if you have a male’s body or vice versa. Your body does not define you. You define you.

Gender is a conflict, imagine having all that confusion going on in your head, trying to understand why you’re different, and then having a whole society of people tell you that it’s not okay and ‘doesn’t make sense’ to be that way. To be at peace with yourself is the greatest achievement of them all.

Gender is not black and white, there’s even more than 50 shades of grey in between. Just like you’re not a 100% happy or sad person, there’s many ways you can feel that’s a mixture of the both.

Gender is falling in love, with whoever makes you happy. Putting your happiness before your reputation. It’s knowing that if your reputation does get effected, you’re not the problem. It’s finding love with who you are, and who you want to be.

Don’t be afraid of your gender because the world is afraid of evolving, because even after all the lying to yourself and everyone around you, people will always find a flaw, it’s our flaw as humans. So you do you.

PS. Be humans!
